Our new sawmill is ready.
In spring, as soon as the snow melted away, the work for our new sawmill began. For a few years now already, we have used our own forest as the main source of wood for our products. The capacity of the old sawmill was no longer enough, and we needed a better and more efficient sawmill to support our growth.
Self-made to fit our needs.
Because we wanted the sawmill to be optimized for our use, we decided to build it ourselves. An old but efficient electric motor was selected as the motor to run the blade. The frame and dimensions of the mill are designed in such a way that it can be used as efficiently as possible to process the wood in dimensions we need. The project took a big part of the summer to complete but we are really happy with the outcome!
A step against clear-cut forests.
Nowadays we use mainly local wood from our own forest in our skis, to fight against clear cut forests. We select individual trees around the forest, ensuring that the impact on the environment remains as small as possible. Our neverending passion is to make the most sustainable skis on the Planet and this is yet another way to make this happen.
