Since the very first pair of skis, our goal has been simple. We want to make a change. We want to redefine the way skis are made by replacing traditional fossil based materials with high-performance bio-based and responsibly sourced local materials.
What makes us unique is our conscious material selection. Our production process is designed to minimize raw material waste and repurpose it, utilizing timber where the remaining wood offcuts are repurposed. By using alternative materials like flax fiber and local wood, we significantly reduce the reliance on fossil-based components, utilizing the principles of continuous-cover forestry in our own forest.
Through years of research, development and meticulous testing we’ve come up with a durable construction that combines renewable materials with a century-old know-how of Finnish wood ski makers. The result is a high-performance ski construction designed to maximize the use of renewable resources and extend the product’s lifespan.

Flax Fiber
Every HAVU downhill ski and snowboard is built using innovative ampliTex flax fibers. Flax is a natural, renewable plant fiber that offers exceptional. dampening properties and mechanical strength, ensuring a smooth and stable ride.
Full Wood core
Wood for our cores comes mainly within a radius of 100m from our factory. We carefully select individual trees, often damaged by storms or other factors with a continuous-cover principle ensuring a highly traceable and transparent supply chain.
High-density Maple wood, treated with a natural linseed oil mixture, replaces traditional plastic sidewalls. This bio-based alternative looks unique, provides excellent edge grip and high impact resistance under demanding conditions.
Wood Topsheet
Real wood veneers work perfectly as topsheets, giving each ski a unique, individual look. We do not use exotic woods from threatened rainforest ecosystems, instead, we select responsibly sourced wood species like Birch and Walnut. A durable clear coat protects the wood surface against heavy use, and unlike plastic top sheets, the wood can be sanded and re-coated to extend its lifespan.
Bio Resin
We use bio-based epoxy resin where 30% of the molecular carbon content is derived from industrial plant-based waste streams rather than petroleum. This alternative helps lower fossil-based material dependency and reduces energy consumption during production, while maintaining excellent adhesion, flexibility and long-term durability to prevent delamination.
Local manufacturing
We build everything we sell at our own workshop in the middle of the Finnish countryside. By keeping our manufacturing entirely local and avoiding international outsourcing, we maintain full quality control, minimize logistical footprints, reduce material waste and ensure a transparent working environment.
